Super Bowl Sunday

So I usually only watch the super bowl for the commercials, but Da Bears were playing this year, and the last time I actually enjoyed watching the super bowl was when I won $3,000 in a pool when Da Bears won in '85. I hoped that they would bring the magic of "interest" back, since I didn't bet this time around. Good thing, since they lost. The first half of the game was good, though?
So, to keep the game interesting, I kept a "log" of what happened, first downs, good plays, injuries, and, of course, the commercials.
Is anyone else disappointed in the commercials? I was so psyched and none were good enough to cause a real belly laugh or heart strings tugged to tears. I liked the Blockbuster ad with the "mouse" best, and was disappointed that CBS tied GoDaddy's hands to the point of allowing one of the most mundane ads during the game. The Sierra Mist combover and the Snickers commercials were gross, and the Chevy college student's ad was forgettable (I saw the special about the different ads proposed and at least two were WAY better). The Doritos ad made by amateurs was really good, considering it was better than any ad Doritos has presented since the laundry mat ad. And I LOVED the stray dog who ends up "becoming" a Budweiser dog! How cute was that?
I am glad for Peyton Manning - he really did do a great job after the first quarter. And I am sorry for the Bears fans that the teams' defensive line (and offensive line) were so weak - heck, they are USED to playing in adverse conditions, but they seemed to be bloopering from the rain more than the Colts - who play in a dome! OOPS! Maybe the Bears were just celebrating the fact that they were ALREADY at Disney World (or close to it) so they didn't need to win? Or that they were not where it was snowing and subzero? Grossman acted like he was hurrying to get to his fishing boat, rather than make good plays, and his offensive linemen were watching the cheerleaders? I was disappointed, could you tell?
So I made it fun by "dissecting" it, but was disappointed by both the game and the ads, so it was a wasted afternoon. Thank goodness Criminal Minds was a good episode (except I hate cliffhangers).
